Winston had more water therapy tonight. We shot some video of Winston swimming. He is getting much more confident in the water but is really content to just sit on the steps. You will see in the video that he is having fun! He loves food so we use treats to try to entice him. We hope that by the end of the week he will move from the steps by himself more freely.
We all had fun tonight and Winston's little legs had some much needed exercise! He is snoring at my feet as I write this!
Many thanks to my brother Michael and his family for use of his pool ... now with dog hair.

Certainly one of the great videos of all time. Love the wet suit look, Mark and Kel! Cowabunga Dude!
ReplyDeleteWhy the life jacket?
ReplyDeleteAndy, do you think we can be the next big act at Seaworld with our rather hip suits and a waterdog? "Cowabunga Dude"? No more TV for you!
ReplyDeleteWhy the life jacket? A few reasons, Winston's legs are still very weak from his recent surgery. Glen of Imaals are a muscular, heavy boned (dense), almost dwarf breed with short bowed legs. Thus, they are lacking in the propulsion department compared to other standard/long legged breeds. Some Glens sink like a stone and need the extra bouyancy. Finally, Winston is new to swimming and the pfd gives him extra confidence. Without it, he'd probably think we were trying to drown him.
