Reunion!!!

Winston started his next round of training at Petsmart tonight!

Winston was reunited with all his puppy class buddies: Dexter, Jasmine and Brindee!

It was fun to see all the old gang again. All the doggies have grown so much.  It was great to be back together again!

We enjoyed our first class with Lindsey so much that we wanted to be sure to have her for this class too!  Winston remembered her with a great fondness and true adoration....

Winston especially remembered that she gives out tasty tidbits.

Winston helped Lindsey demonstrate a new command tonight: "wait." This command will be good for going in and out of doors and learning to "wait" before exciting activities.  Here, Winston was to "wait" between the chairs until he heard the release command.

We also had to refresh the other commands we learned the first time around. So Winston and Mark practiced "come!" This is most difficult for independent (read: stubborn!) terriers.

Winston did it with ease and received some praise. 

Learning to heel will be a big challenge that Winston will take on in this class. Tonight he put to use the "watch" command he learned in the first class to sit my Mark's side. The "watch" command will be extended to incorporate in walking and heeling.  Good job, Winston! Another great class of learning and fun! What a good dog!

Life's a beach!

Winston loves the water but the waves at the beach were loud and a tad intimidating to him. He took it all in stride!

One thing Winston does not like about the beach trips are the stairs! We do not have stairs at home so he is not accustomed to them.  I think he is afraid of heights so going up the stairs is not too difficult for him but coming down is a daunting task! 

Winston made pretty good progress. I placed tiny tidbits of tasty treats on each step to reward him for his progress. Of course, the treats drew a crowd of opportunistic chow hounds. Those short little legs do make it more difficult for him. Also, he is bearlike and sorta clumsy with his gait... more like he lumbers than hops or climbs.

                                All this time at the beach is exhausting! Time for a nap!

An adventure around every corner

Winston started out on our walk tonight by finding a bird feather. He proceeded to try to eat it.

Next, Winston encountered a HUGE mushroom!

Mark made sure Winston learned about the dangers of mushrooms and eating random objects off the ground.

When we reached the half way point, Winston remembered the water break from the two other times! He and Mark left us in the dust! 

Winston loves water--especially playing in it!

Winston now follows up all our walks with a mad dash to the puppy paddling pool! He loves to splash around and play. He usually jumps in and plops down in the water, then jumps out runs a lap and jumps back in again! Every day is still an adventure and we are enjoying it so much!

If you have been following Winston's Life and Blog you will recognize this chair where he sought refuge as a puppy. Winston is now 30 pounds and outweighs both Elliott and Carly! He still likes to hide out under this chair but it is a tight fit! Here he rests his head on the dowel. Just a day in the life of Winston!
